*sigh* How long since my last post? How long since my last post worth reading? Eat it up.

I said once that the whole of the human race should spend a minute a day weeping for lost beauty. At the time I was thinking of the natural world and the methodical destruction of it (and specifically of stars; how long has it been since I, in big city Edmonton, saw more than a dozen stars at a time?), but now I want to widen my statement to include all the times we lose beauty in our lives.

I think children are smarter than almost all adults, and the younger the child, the better. Some kids are miniature adults nowadays – it breaks my heart to see a nine year girl worrying that she’s fat (and she’s thin as a stick, too). Children…they don’t know what society expects of them, so they don’t conform, they haven’t formed strong views on much of anything, they’re not racist or sexist or anything really…blank slates. Psyche, without persona. Humans as humans were meant to be.

Society’s insane. It wants logic and forward-thinking, wisdom and experience, but it also wants to look no older than twenty five. It wants new ideas and spontaneity, but rewards those who are truly spontaneous, saying what they think when they think it and moving however they want with the label “crazy” and murmurs about autism.

You know what I think? Everyone’s too future-centric. The enjoyment of the present is lost in the hopes of the future, and nobody realises that jam tomorrow is nothing when compared to dry bread today. There are people in my class (most of whom are 14 with a few 13-year-olds hanging in there) saying what they’ll do for A levels or IB (seventeen or eighteen), forming opinions about which sixth form college they’ll go to (seventeen/eighteen again), looking at universities (twenty) and what they’ll read there.

I wish the whole world would slow down. The future can only be changed by working in the present, and if you don’t enjoy the present, where will you be in the future? Stop. Slown down. Stand and stare. You’ve got the whole of your life ahead of you! Plenty of time; all the time you’ll ever have. If you love it, do it. Who cares what the world thinks? Who cares about money (it’s just paper and metal, after all)? Who cares about the future? Dry bread today! Tomorrow never comes!

Something I don’t understand is people taking jobs they hate (eg McDonald’s…ugh…) for money. Let’s say you spend 8 hours sleeping. You’ve got 16 hours in each 24-hour day to live, and if you’re working 9-5 then you’re working 8 hours a day. Work in a job you hate and you’re spending half your waking hours doing something you detest. What a waste of a life. I’d rather starve happily then eat miserably.

Abrupt end to my rambling, of course- stick that in your pipe and smoke it!!!!!

Things that grow;

They will never cease

To do so.

But if they become

Things that don’t grow,

They will fail.

Respect is something

Worth growing,

Isn’t it?

Why can’t we live together?

Great movie. Go watch it.

Three people busy in one average-sized house. Person B and C are in the same room. Person A needs to get a message to person C- so he/she yells the message across the house to person B to pass it on. Doesn’t it make logical sense that Person C will have heard it anyway!? Allow me to clarify;

A: Hey B, tell C that I’m hungry!!!!

B: C!!!! A’s HUNGRY!!!!!!!

C: I HEARD THE FIRST TIME SOMEBODY SCREAMED IT; I DON’T NEED TO HEAR IT AGAIN!!!!

No translation on this one; it’s just something worth writing but not quite worth reading.

“Something worth saying should be something worth understanding.”

How many days till Christmas? <——– completely irrelevant; but commonly asked.

It’s been how many months since my discovery of The Endless Forest??? I can’t believe I haven’t advertised it yet! Okay; that was blunt, but it’s really quite true. Perhaps you’ve heard of it? By NO means is the game ANY of the following!!!!!

  • Bambi Online
  • Anti-Social
  • Freaky
  • A Waste of Time
  • Pay 2 Play

Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system; I suggest you visit the website (http://tale-of-tales.com/TheEndlessForest/) And read what there is to read. I’ve explained the game before; and ended up taking up WAY more space than I would want to put in a blog. So, for your sake; I’ll leave the explaining to the official website. However; I will proclaim that it is a true masterpiece. As for my Spanish audience- the site itself is only in English but you won’t need to know any English to play the game and socialize. Oh yeah; it’s usually referred to as being an MMO, but you should keep in mind that it’s a social game and NOT a let’s-go-kill-stuff game. Give it a try; it’s not flooded with kiddies either.

“The things anybody can hear, but nobody bothers to- this is what we call white noise.”

“What are you doing right now?” Ah, yes; reading, of course! Did you know that wars are still persisting? You do. Did you know that children in third world countries are starving? You always have; those commercials on TV won’t let you know otherwise. Maybe you know what your friends are up to, too…

But what’s Bob from Toronto up to? I don’t know either. Okay, maybe you do- in which case a better question would be; “Is there a fly in Stuart Little’s cat bowl right now?” There’s something you can’t answer. It seems people insist on sucking up all the information they possibly can about what goes on with the people closest to them; and there are some things people just know- like the starving kids on the other side of the world. But surely you wouldn’t be able to answer if somebody asked you what Bilimsel from Istanbul is doing. For a matter of fact, he says he’s currently; ‘ufuğun kolundaki kılları yaktıktan sonra bir depar attım, kendime inanamadım, evet 25 yaşındayım (100 binlik arabam yok)’. And no, I can’t translate. That’s a little out there, no? Okay; let’s try something a little closer to home- How about (random citizen) from 2 blocks down? Maybe you don’t even know their name! Look out the window; any passersby? Do you know them; do you know what they’re doing? How about this; You can’t tell me what Sheryl from Spain, or what Kari from Brazil were doing yesterday. I know; but I can’t tell you what’s up with them today >.>

“Why on earth would I need to know these things!?” Well; nobody would need to, but can’t you admit that you’re interested to some extent? Most people use the internet to communicate with people they already know, or to find out stuff they absolutely must know. What I see in this internet is an enormous BLOB of people from all over the world. Who can resist mingling with such a crowd? Everybody’s going to be different here. I’M REALLY HUNGRY RIGHT NOW SOMEBODY FEED ME!!!! Heh…anyway; I was saying! I’m rather shy IRL, but when I get going on forums, MMO’s, etc. I’m a social butterfly! mom’s crazy she already packed up all our food for the move… Okay; let me get straight to it before my stomach eats itself- Check out Twitter.com if you’re interested in what the world’s doing- or if you just sick of people saying ‘nothing’ every time you ask them ‘what’s up?’ on MSN. (No, really- those situations destroy the use of MSN and everybody does it)

Double post today! And in case you’re wondering; this was originally going to be a review for Twitter but as you can see it quickly became some rather random blurp.

Sheryl- sometime after lunch she exclaimed on Twitterfaces “I’m either stuffed full of curry or about to have a little Indian baby”
Kari- She was playing Metin 2, attempting and mostly failing to communicate with English me. She also insisted on trying to attack mobs of much higher level than herself T.T

Kate: I sent you pictures of my new glasses- don’t you just love ‘em!?

Alphadingo: But they don’t suit you?

Kate: Is that a question?

Alphadingo: A statement, actually. My misuse of the question mark is noticed quite often.

Kate: I don’t get it o.O

Alphadingo: In this context the question mark is indicating inquiry of the statement previous.

Kate: English please?

Alphadingo: I’m confused as to why you’ve been so excited about getting these glasses when they don’t suit you.

Kate: They looked good by them self… wait; is that a real context?

Alphadingo: No idea. Makes sense, though?

Kate: There you go again!!!

“All in all a terrible movie. I highly recommend it ^.^”

Have you ever tried to draw straight lines freehand? At least as a kid? Chances are you found it excruciatingly impossible. And when your straightedge starts to wear down? Should you keep using it despite how wobbly your lines may become? I’m using too many questions in a paragraph. Looks like my straightedge is a tad worn, too.

What am I getting at? Certainly not grammatical mistakes! Of course not. “My abuse of the ever-useful question mark is completely irrelevant.” Earlier today I had attempted(and failed) to troubleshoot some Vista-related issues in Winamp. My forum search for ‘vista issues’ gave me over 50 pages of results but none of them were related to Vista and less than half of them had anything to do with Winamp. Where are the forum mods? “Here we have an extremely crooked line; somebody obviously made a slip.” =/

I can’t help but notice how many people fail to decide what to consider as being ‘morally and socially correct’. Most people who make this mistake will actually notice it; but refuse to do anything about it. A rather large scale example; something illegal in one country is legal in another. Does that mean it’s okay to do as long as you do it where it’s legal? Perhaps you’re a good, respectable person and don’t personally see anything wrong with the said act. The fact still remains that it’s illegal somewhere. You have to think of why it would be illegal. Unless of course, the country is irrational- in which case you have to verify that very fact. But one of the most problematic examples of this “failure to draw straight lines” is comprehension of biblical law. Such things are often debated; the most obvious of which being whether or not it’s okay to get tattoos. Arguments include ‘But it only applies to old testament!’ vs ‘God doesn’t change his mind. His written laws are solid and definite.’ Who are we to decide what side is correct? Some of you may make a decision to never get tattooed so you it won’t matter anyway. But then you still have a wobbly line nagging at the back of your mind. “For whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23) This verse should come to mind. Although 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 does not directly apply to tattoos or body piercings, it does give us a principle, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” This great truth should have a real bearing on what we do and where we go with our bodies. If our bodies belong to God, we should make sure we have His clear “permission” before we “mark it up” with tattoos or body piercings. A tattoo that glorifies god? Now you’re getting somewhere. The laws in Leviticus state that you are not to ‘desecrate your body with such piercings and tattoos’. Not all such tattoos and piercings have to be desecrations.

If you keep letting wobbly lines slide; you’ll end up with a giant scribbly mess and you won’t have a clue at all. Straighten these lines before they tangle. You can use the same straightedge- just use the other side of it. You have to look further into the problem.

Praying for the riddance of mosquitoes- is that alright to do? Try to decide for yourself when you see this thread; http://www.thejesusjoint.net/viewtopic.php?t=2424&sid=7baa9fb897c3123bcab8b28da734ea32
